Fond du Lac Chapter #289, Order of the Eastern Star, held its Installation on May 28th at 7:00 pm. The Worthy Grand Matron, Kris Engbring was the installing officer assisted by Jerry Miller of Loyalty Chapter in Plymouth. The Bible was brought in by Marisa Leisten, Grand Bethel Honored Queen, International Order of Job’s Daughters and also a member of the local Bethel #3. This was followed by the presentation of the flag by Bob Enloe, Worshipful Master of Lodge #26 in Fond du Lac.All eighteen officers were installed in front of an audience of about 50 members and visitors. Many dignitaries were present including 3 Past Worthy Grand Matrons, two Grand Officers, a Grand Representative and visitors from other chapters including Sheboygan, Plymouth, Madison, Oshkosh, Appleton, Wautoma, and New Holstein/Calumet. A reception in the dining room followed the installation.
The next meeting of Chapter #289 will be Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00 pm. Members were asked to bring a baby picture of them for an activity to follow the meeting. There will be a light supper before the meeting for a slight charge. Refreshments will be served after the meeting also with Doris Kerski and Bernice Labus on committee.
